Helping you create a peaceful space to heal your mind and body after birth

Every women has different feelings, emotions, and confidence levels when becoming a new mom. I am here to listen to your birth story, validate your emotions, and provide clear evidence-based information so you can make sound decisions for yourself and your growing family.
Body Restoration
The first 40 days following birth are the most sensitive days to a mother. An intentional time for rest allows your body to naturally restore itself. Let's discuss self-care techniques that will help restore, nourish, and improve your self-esteem in your beautifully changing body.
Parental Confidence
Whether this is your first or your fifth baby, bringing home a newborn can be... overwhelming. From bathing, feeding, diaper changing, rocking, sleeping, soothing, bonding, to playing, I will support you through it all.
Your postpartum doula
Welcome! I am so glad you're here. My name is Alyssia and I am a CAPPA Postpartum Doula student and Pre/Postpartum Fitness Specialist. I gave birth to my beautiful daughter in 2019 and had an abundance of physical and newborn support in my postpartum journey from family and friends. However, looking back in hindsight, I struggled with postpartum depression. I did not know how to articulate nor manage the overwhelming emotions that surrounded my new identity. I created Baby-Bearing Bodies to provide a collective professional service that empowers other women into motherhood, especially those who may not have the readily available support from their village.
“For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works”
Psalm 139: 13-14 NKJV

The major role of the postpartum doula is to help the family make a smooth adjustment by educating and supporting the new parents so they feel empowered to care for their newborn with confidence. Studies have shown that women who have social support during the postpartum period tend to have less postpartum depression, breastfeed for a longer duration, and make a better adjustment to parenthood.
